My thoughts

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

My thoughts

Proverbs 25: 21- 22

"If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,
and the LORD will reward you."

My thoughts

Proverbs25:21-22

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;
if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,
and the LORD will reward you.

My thoughts

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13 Never let anyone tell you what you can't do. With God, ALL things are possible!

Mothers.....

It was Mother's Day on Sunday and as Achen reminded us, we should thank and express our love to our Mothers everyday, but Mother's Day is a special Day for it. We often overlook all the wonderful things our mothers do... they are never resting, never complaining and always doing the daily things to make life more comfortable for us all.
They pray for us, they discipline us, they advise us and whether we are little children or grown up adults, they love us - their children - with an unconditional love. Our Mothers are the best role models for us and their love really makes us wonder how great God's Agape love can be for us.
I read a poem recently by Bonnie Jensen that perfectly illustrates my mum...and I'm sure it is appropriate for all our mothers:
Into a precious vessel God pours tenderness and love,
An understanding heart, and all the joy a child dreams of....
He gives her His compassion and a kindness like no other
Then wraps her in His quiet strength and gently calls her MOTHER

My thoughts

Philippians 4:13

"I can do everything through him who gives me strength."

My thoughts

‎"You shall weep no more: he will be very gracious unto you at the voice of your cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer you." - Isaiah 30:19

My thoughts..

Dear friends ,
as i was reading the bible yesterday a particular verse caught my eye.........
hope this verse helps each one of you like how it helped me .....

Isaiah 40:31
"but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."

This above verse says that whatever situation we are in, however hopeless we feel,however down we feel because of our exams, family problems, problems at work............... dear friends all you have to is put forward all your or your families burden to god then god will renew your strength, he will lead you when you don't know the way, he will bear your weight when you feel weak, he will change the impossible into possibilities and therefore will change the hopeless situations into the hopeful ones........

So dear ones kneel down and pray and talk to god on whatever you want , no matter how bad things get and also REMEMBER TO LISTEN TO GOD AT THE SAME TIME. Some times god talks to you through visions, through certain people and through certain life experiences,.....

Have a great week !!!!!!!!!!!!

My thoughts

‎"Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am weak; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are troubled." - Psalm 6:2

My thoughts

‎"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever." - Isaiah 40:8

My thoughts

Revelations 21
“Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Dear friends we might question this verse by asking IS THERE TEARS IN HEAVEN .... but from revelation 21 we understand that the last tears will be wiped away in heaven ....
the reasons for these tears could be that

1. Believers might be grateful , happy and they might consider themselves unworthy to enter the gates of heaven. THE TEARS OF JOY

2. The second reason for tears could be that if we are in heaven and our family members and not there, we might be upset that our family didn't get the opportunity. When you are in heaven you will be able to recognize people.... We can understand this from the parable of the rich man and Lazar...

Therefore dear friends in christ , prepare yourselves for the second coming of Jesus so that all of us.... both the people near and far, dead and alive , friends and enemies can enter the gates of heaven by rejoicing God for choosing the least worthy ones ; us....

Have a great week....:) SHERON xxxx

My thoughts

– 1 John 4:19-20
We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

My thoughts

‎"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." - Psalm 73:26

My thoughts

Mathew 14:27

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

My thoughts

Psalms 86 :11

Teach me your way, LORD,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.

My thoughts

Acts 18:9

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.

My thoughts

Hebrews 13:6

So we say with confidence,

“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”

My thoughts

Isaiah 12:2
Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation.”

My thoughts

Psalms 40:11
Do not withhold your mercy from me, LORD;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me.

1 Timothy 1:19

"Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked." (NLT)

My thoughts

Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV)
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."

My thoughts

Psalms 40: 11

Do not withhold your mercy from me, LORD;
may your love and faithfulness always protect me.

my thoughts

Psalms 43:3

Send me your light and your faithful care,
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.

My Thoughts.....

Dear Friends as I was reading the bible yesterday a special verse caught my eye.....

" When Joseph saw his father placing his right hand on Ephraim’s head he was displeased; so he took hold of his father’s hand to move it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head. Joseph said to him, “No, my father, this one is the firstborn; put your right hand on his head.”

REMEMBER : Jacob adopted Joseph's two sons Ephraim and Manasseh.

The background of the verse is that normally in a house hold the blessing of the right hand of a father goes to the eldest so ...here which is rightfully Manasseh but Jacob chose to put his right hand on Ephraim .... and here Ephraim is asking why Jacob is putting his right hand on him.... so that Jacob wanted god's right hand to fall on Manasseh and left hand on Ephraim

but in Genesis 48:14 "And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid [it] upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the first-born." We can see that god crossed his hands so that his right hand will fall on Ephraim and left hand Manasseh (the eldest son) .....

I was thinking that will our god and saviour take a chance by choosing the least important people; us- over his precious one and only son Jesus Christ.??? Are we worth all of this????.... but later i saw this verse

John 3:16...."For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."......

(N.P- Have a great week..... and if you think any of the above info are inaccurate either change it plz... or let me know... thanks).......................SHERON xxxxx

Psalm 91 vs2 & 14-16

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Jesus in the storm

Dear friends
the story about Jesus and his disciples in the storm is a great example on how we should respond during troubles and exam..... Here we see that in the storm the disciples panic and asks for help but what they don't realize is that the help is right with them.... on board ,JESUS. Here Jesus is the example on how we should react to troubles.... we should believe in our lord and saviour Jesus Christ and have faith in him that the Lord will give, we should have faith in him.....

Happy New Year....

Looking forward to a blessed New Year 2011...

The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By his mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, "The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!" Lamentations 3:22-24

'...that is why I was sent.' Luke 4:43

Just a little thought I read....
Celebrate Christmas every day of the year!

'...that is why I was sent.' Luke 4:43

The story's told of a mother putting away the nativity set after Christmas when she noticed the Baby Jesus was missing. She asked her four-year-old if he knew where Jesus was. He replied, 'Yes, but He doesn't want me to tell anybody.' 'Why not?' she asked. 'Because He doesn't want you to put Him away with the decorations,' he said. Wisdom from the lips of a child! When you know why Jesus came, you'll celebrate Christmas every day.

Advent

Luke 1: 30-31
'But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a Son, and you are to call Him Jesus. "'

God's plan

Psalm 139:16 (New International Version)

16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Relationships - Upcoming Youth Discussion Sat 13/11/10

Just a few verses to think about before our meeting this week......

1 Peter 3:1-4, 7 (New Living Translation) :-
"In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands, even those who refuse to accept the Good News. Your godly lives will speak to them better than any words. They will be won over by watching your pure, godly behavior.
Don't be concerned about the outward beauty ... You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God ... In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God's gift of new life. If you don't treat her as you should, your prayers will not be heard."

2 Corinthians 6:14-16 (NLT):-
"14. Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can goodness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15. What harmony can there be between Christ and the Devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16. And what union can there be between God's temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said: "I will live in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.""

Ephesians 6:1-3 (New International Version):-
"1.Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2.Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3.that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth."

Psalm 33: 18 & 22

"But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him - on those whose hope is in His unfailing love...May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You"

Repentance and Renewal

Let us remember our forth-coming Parish Convention and especially Revd T.A. Varughese who will be leading the sessions. The theme is Repentance and renewal...

Romans 12: 1-2

"Therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worhsip. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will"

The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Hi to all
I totally agree with reji achachan and sheena, really i feel confident after last sunday, to answere any queries regarding Facing to east. Thanks to achen who taking pain to teach US. I am sure we going to multiply the no in coming sundays. Just want to share one thing if matba is on east then we are facing east but its not necessary... it depends upon the church structure. But in orthodox church back ground they will face towards east ONLY for prayer. If any of the orthodox achen visits our home they will turn towrads east for prayer( they will ask which way is east). pls do tell if i am wrong.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

CREDO

As Sheena explained, it was a very enlightening session and if advance notice is given about the next month`s topic, people can read up on that and may be ask achen and clear their queries.
Our aim should be to publicise these sessions and get as many people as possible to attend them.
God bless.

CREDO Sunday 22nd August 2010

We had our first CREDO session on Sunday after the church service. As Achen explained, CREDO is the latin word meaning "I believe" and this series of sessions are being held for us to learn about our faith and beliefs.

On Sunday Achen answered the question "Why do we face east for worship?". It was a really enlightening session atended by our Youth and all interested members of the congregation.

The CREDO sessions will be held every 4th Sunday after the church service and next month's session is going to be about the confession prayer and why we follow the practice of group/communal confession rather than individual confession.

Please do all attend and bring along any questions or thoughts you may have about the subject.

Youth Bible Study 21st August, 2010

"For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found" Luke 15: 24

We had a really good Bible study session on Saturday based around the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15: 11-32). Thank you to all who came along and participated. We had a really fruitful discussion afterwards also around what Achen had spoken about, which I think highlighted a number of points of view that were new to us all.

Please do all make sure to come regularly for the Bible study on 2nd Saturday held at our church in the parish hall from 3pm.

Re:Pakistan floods....

Thats a verty good verse you quoted from the Bible Anu..
lets all uphold the affected people in our prayers..

Ajith..

Pakistan floods

"The authorities say as many as 20 million people are affected by the floods. The UN says six million desperately need emergency aid but most still have not received it. Ten of thousands of villages remain under water.

There are growing health concerns for those surviving without proper shelter, food or clean drinking water, three weeks after the country's worst natural disaster began."
(from BBC News website)

Let us keep all those affected by the floods in Pakistan in our prayers...

They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.
Psalm 18:18

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
